Founded in 1995, Wehmeyer Seed is a multi-generational family owned seed company dedicated to raising, conditioning and packaging high quality soybean and wheat seed.
It all started with seed. And a focus on quality.
Before Wehmeyer Seed, Dale Wehmeyer managed the University of Missouri’s Foundation Seed Program. His broad range of experience in Foundation Seed increases, commercial production, field operations, seed plant design, management and teaching helped build his extensive knowledge in the seed industry. In 1995, Dale and Lisa moved back to town where they met and founded Wehmeyer Seed — bringing his deep understanding of seed quality and excellence to commercial seed production.
By continuously improving our facility and equipment, we have established ourselves as the premier seed processing facility in the Midwest. Our long-standing client relationships reflect the faith they have in us and our reputation for honesty, integrity and professionalism.

We accept our responsibility to be good stewards of the land and environment. We have converted our seed plant to run on solar energy and ensure our business is operating in a sustainable manner. In addition, we emphasize other sustainability measures such as recycling bags, minibulk bags, cardboard and metal. We have also outfitted our warehouses with LED light fixtures.
Our Location
We are conveniently located in Southwest Illinois, 30 miles east of St. Louis, Missouri. Rooted in the heart of the Midwest, our location offers many advantages for our business and clients. Our productive Illinois soils have a history of producing dependable, high quality seed, year after year. Additionally, our customers enjoy our proximity to the St. Louis metro and major interstate highways for shipping.
